Man, you never truly realize how much stuff you accumulate until you have to pack it all into boxes. I’m giving myself a little break, considering I moved into this apartment from a four bedroom home, but still… I’m glad I have made myself into someone who doesn’t have to keep something just ‘in case.’ I actually find it refreshing to rid myself of stuff I’ve been hanging on to. This move is going to help me do that. Cleanse.
Oh yeah. Hi there. I’ve been on the blogosphere for longer than I’d like to admit, but I’m taking a fresh stab at this in hopes I can get somewhere this time around. And I suppose I thought the move I’m about to make would be a good jumping off point.
You see, in all twenty eight years of my life, I’ve been a Mainer. Born, raised and proud. There’s just something about this place that I can never fully explain to outsiders. It’s a feeling, a culture, a bond. I’m sure I’ll wax poetic about that later. More to the point, I’m about to become a whole new class of New Englander – a Nutmegger. For those of you that don’t know (and trust me, I didn’t know until I wikipedia’d it), a Nutmegger is a person from Connecitcut (also known as the Nutmeg State). Definitely one of the better spices to be known for, if you ask me.
I’m making this move for love — an interesting concept to wrap your head around when you’re not a bright-eyed bushy-tailed youngin’. Responsibility and ‘the future’ really can be all-consuming as an adult, if you’re not careful. But my Main Squeeze is pretty great, and I think I’ve been ready for a big change for a long time now. As with most big changes, you can’t wait for them to happen on their own. You must be a catalyst! (Oooo, science-y.)
So anyway, this is a new adventure for me. And I was hoping I could bring you along, internets. TTFN.
